Easter Sunday is an important event especially for Christians and even Non-Christians on all parts of the world. This day that comes after holy week is a celebration that commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. And how could it be called a celebration without fun activities like Easter Bunny, Easter Parades and the most popular amongst all, Easter Egg Hunting!
I remember when I was a child, my mom used to make tons of colorful dyed eggs and hide it strategically all over the house and whoever gets five eggs first, wins a prize. Those days are fun but I must admit, the dyed eggs my mom used to make are really boring! Dyeing eggs are easy but to make it more unique and outstanding, you will need tons of creativity as well as patience… cleaning the mess afterwards.
But this lady came up with a brilliant idea on how to dye eggs easy yet artistic! Contrary to ordinary dyed eggs with mundane solid colors, her version has this cute speckled pattern that gives the egg a whole new exciting look! What makes it unique though is that she uses rice to create this marvelous speckled design!
Dyeing eggs this way is really fun and mess free! Here’s the video:

Although she uses a kit called “shake it”, it’s actually easy to recreate this kit if you can’t find one at home. One thing to note is that you need to shake and swirl the egg around it very patiently until all specks has been transferred on the eggs.
You only need three things to make the kit:
- Uncooked Rice
- Food Coloring
- Small Containers with Lid
Wow! I never thought that rice can create such patterns on eggs! What I love about this dyeing eggs process is that cleaning afterwards is a breeze! No more dye spills on the counter-top, messy hands, and splash of paint on the walls! Isn’t this exciting? Share it to your friends!
